Patent approval for Propyzamide synthesis technology

China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) has approved a patent for a new method of synthesizing Propyzamide, a widely used herbicide for weed control in crops. The patent was awarded to a team of chemists at Shenzhen Qianchen Laboratory Co., Limited (QC Lab, www.qclab.com.cn) who developed the innovative synthesis technology and the patent No.: ZL2021 1 0278180.X.

Propyzamide has been a popular choice for farmers and gardeners due to its effectiveness in controlling annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in a variety of crops. However, the existing methods for producing Propyzamide are time-consuming and require the use of toxic chemicals.

The newly patented synthesis technology offers a more efficient and eco-friendly alternative to the traditional methods. The process uses non-toxic reagents and solvents, and it can be completed in a shorter time with a higher yield of the desired product.

“We are excited to introduce this new method of synthesizing Propyzamide,” said Dr. Yvonne Yan, the lead chemist of the team. “Our technology not only improves the efficiency of the production process but also reduces the environmental impact of the herbicide.”

The patent approval marks a significant milestone for QC Lab and the agricultural industry. The company plans to license the technology to other herbicide manufacturers and collaborate with researchers to explore other applications of the synthesis method.

The new synthesis technology for Propyzamide is expected to contribute to the sustainable development of agriculture and provide farmers with a more effective and environmentally friendly solution for weed control.

QC Lab is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shenzhen Yancheng Chemicals Co., Limited (YC Chem, www.yanchengchem.com). QC Lab has been accredited both of CMA certificate and CNAS certificate for the research, analysis and inspection in the field of agrochemicals. It can provide the services for synthesis study, analysis and inspection, 5-batch studies based on ISO17025. If you have any enquiry, please contact with lab@qclab.com.cn.
